ESP Edwards - ES-11 OPRIII |
As played by Sugizo from the band Luna Sea

Based on the Prince Cloud guitar the ES-11 OPRIII was produced by ESP for a couple of years under the Edwards brand. I believe it was only sold in Japan, Europe and Canada. There were two different pick-up configurations available: Humbucker Bridge Pick-up and a Single Coil in the neck and also the 3 Single Coils configuration. The pick-ups are normally branded 'ESP' but I have seen these guitars with EMG pick-ups. Notable differences to Prince's Cloud Guitar are the Floyd Rose Trem, the swirl around the jack socket is more figured, and the horn is larger and thicker. The guitars are made from Alder rather than Maple and they also have 24 frets. These are very well made guitars, the neck/fretboard is particularly impressive. It's rare to find these in good condition, they tend to look like they've been played a lot! (Which has to be a good sign!) There were also double neck and triple neck versions of this guitar available.
