Aria Matsuoka Catalogues galore

My interest in Aria guitars comes mainly from discovering that Ryoji Matsuoka produced a number of guitars that were branded and sold as Aria guitars. The result of my hunt for Matsuoka made Aria acoustic guitars is that I have also ended up buying one or two non Matsuoka aria guitars that are still nonetheless lovely guitars. I have a couple of classical models and a PW65 with an upgraded 'Tree Of Life' fretboard (normally on the PW70). More details to follow on those guitars soon.

Aria Pro II PW-65

From the catalogue:

Close grain solid spruce top, pearlized celluloid purfling around body edge and sound hole, White celluloid bound rosewood back & sides. 3-piece back is inlaid with wood marquetry, Ebonized rosewood fingerboard with Mexican abalone shell position markers [apparently also available with the Tree Of Life!) Fingerboard edge is bound with white celluloid, German silver frets in full width. Scale is 650mm.

Pro II's solid sruce top is of Canadian Sitka, well seasoned and specially processed for lessening expansion and contraction of the fiber of the wood and giving moderate hardness for better resonance. Pro II flat top guitars are all lacuer finished inside of the body giving better resonance, and preventing change in material caused by change in humidity.

Pro II'smachine head, #2253G is easy to tune 14:1 gear ratio ensures smooth and precise tuning. Beautiful die-cast housing and buttons are 24-Karat gold plated.

Pro II's ebonized rosewood bridge is designed for distinctive styling as well as for giving supreme balance for an even tonal response, inlaid with mother-of-pearl.
